Global Warming

Although global warming is growing concern among all countries, no one is willing to take action due to people look at it not as a serious threat. So what is global warming? Global warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. Many scientists believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is having a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this could be very dangerous for human life. Therefore, we should prescribe the right medicine for an illness.

Many problems could result from global warming. One of the biggest problems is rising sea level. This could result in the flooding of low lying coastal areas and cities, such as Venice, the Netherlands, and Maldives. Some countries might even disappear completely! Another problem caused by global warming is changes in weather patterns. Many areas of the world are experiencing increased hurricanes, floods, and other unusual weather. A third problem associated with global warming is the effect on animals. Fish populations could be affected, while some insects which spread disease might become more common.

There are several things we can do to solve the problem of global warming. One solution is to stop producing carbon dioxide which are believed to be the primary sources of the global warming. We can do this by switching from oil, coal and gas to renewable energy. Another solution is to plant more trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, which is not a greenhouse gas. A third solution is to use less energy and to recycle more products. Generating electricity is one of the main sources of carbon dioxide. If we use less electricity, we will produce less carbon dioxide.

In conclusion, if we make small changes now in the way we live, we can avoid huge changes in the future. Scientists, governments and individuals must work together to overcome this threat.

Here is a clip that shows how to reduce/prevent global warming:

WORST Flood ever

Floods happen very frequently in Malaysia especially in the last quarter of the year. The recent floods that happened was the worst one ever in Malaysia history.  I have never seen such a terrible floods in my life, that is the recent floods hit Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu.

During the monsoon coupled with heavy rains in December 2014, people in Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu were force to evacuate their homes. As times goes on, the rivers in East Coast region had reached dangerous levels. The rising waters from the seas was due to Moon moved closer to the Earth, the gravitational force of the Moon disrupts this balance, pulling a tidal bulge of water with it as it orbits our planet and as the Earth rotates, it too causes a tidal bulge on the opposite side. Now, moving the Moon closer to the Earth will increase the gravitational exertion of the satellite onto our planet. Resulting a mighty tidal bulge to be created, hitting the land and causing great flooding .

Due to rising water levels, most of the families were forced to displace. The situation continues to worsen in Kelantan and Terengganu, due to incessant rains happened in a week, this may lead to road closure and paralyses the access to the town. The worst hit district in Terengganu was Kemaman whereas Kuantan in Pahang.

After watching videos that are broadcasted from Internet, I felt very sad when watching some victims survived only a meal a day after they were stranded in the floods. Although floodwater continued to recede, the troubles' far form over. They have to clean up their mess and rebuild a new lives. The other main concern is the possibility of outbreak of diseases such as E.Coli. Even though most strains of the E.coli bacteria are harmless, however some can result in diarrhoea, vomiting, fever, dehydration, and, in extreme cases, death.

The damages and losses were enormous in the aftermath of floods such as highways, buildings, houses, schools, and cars were completely destroyed. We felt very sad and sorry for the victims because some of them have lost their relatives and others lost their valuable things. As 1 Malaysia, we must give a helping hand and contribute to the victims unconditionally.
